The Transportation and Climate Initiative
Branding and Materials

Role: Designer

The Transportation and Climate Initiative (TCI) is a regional collaboration of 13 Northeast and Mid-Atlantic jurisdictions that seeks to develop the clean energy economy, improve transportation, and reduce carbon emissions in the transportation sector. The collaboration is supported by the Georgetown Climate Center, which facilitates state discussions, stakeholder events, and produces research and papers to support state work.

Hatcher provided communications support to TCI, which included a small percentage of design support that quickly grew. Due to the effectiveness of our team's contributions, the contract was renewed for another year. I conceptualized and designed all of the initial deliverables, building TCI's brand from scratch.

Fact Sheets

I designed several fact sheets to help TCI's collaborators explain the benefits of the program to local communities and the climate as a whole. The two-pager below reviews stats and facts on the front and addresses prioritizing equity on the back.

Social Graphics

I produced several series of social graphics for TCI. I also created simplified versions of the below graphics as PowerPoint templates for TCI state partners with limited resources to customize the social graphics for their own regions. This ensured that all collaborators were able to use the resources, regardless of their technology or design ability.

Simple Brand Guide

After creating a suite of social graphics, fact sheets, and PowerPoint presentations, TCI was beginning to develop a distinct visual brand. The client requested guidance for their partners on how to use the materials, so I created a simple, early-stage brand guide with brief explanations and instructions, as well as links to download brand fonts and visual assets.
