National Assessment of Educational Progress

Event, campaign, and data design
Role: Lead designer

The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) is the largest nationally representative, continuing evaluation of the condition of education in the U.S.

My work with NAEP focused on the various ways that data was released and presented across audiences, including short-form social media, long-form reports and infographics, and events.

Virtual and in-person data releases

NAEP data on student performance is regularly released in both in-person and virtual events. I had the opportunity to design for both, creating the look and feel of different subject releases, and curating the required suite of materials for each physical location or digital platform.

Social Media

The Governing Board regularly shares out tiny slices of its data on social media. By adding just a bit of motion and character through the colorful illustrations, these otherwise straightforward data sets become more eye-catching, engaging, and easier to pull meaning from at a glance.
